GROWING PANES
July 13, 2022 - August 21, 2022

Mac Rogers Gallery

GROWING PANES consists of a series of paintings and woodblock prints by artist Marisa O’Donnell Luján. Her work explores modern and ancient technologies, which when implemented in a desert, can promote more sustainable practices. Her narratives combine allegory and folklore through a surrealist lens that is nostalgic while evoking a psychological presence. Her imagery alludes to a dream space sourced from personal and collective histories, a hybrid of memory and possibility.

Marisa O’Donnell Luján is a recipient of the MCAD Cultural Funding Program. As part of its mission to drive El Paso’s cultural vitality, MCAD provides support annually to local artists, area non-profit arts organizations and creative entrepreneurs through a competitive granting process in six categories that is designed for maximum transparency. The Artist Incubator Program (AIP) supports the creation of new work by El Paso artists in all disciplines.

Support for this exhibition is provided by the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department
