The Saintly and not so Saintly, in Folk Art, in El Paso Museum of History, and the El Taller de Grafica Popular exhibition in El Paso Museum of Art.

Collector and scholar, Michael T. Ricker kicks off Merienda Talks* with a conversation about the exhibition, The Devil You Say! The Saintly and not so Saintly, in Folk Art, which highlights the central Christian concept of duality, good versus evil. The exhibition is comprised of selected works from Ricker’s expansive personal collection, representing a variety of cultures exemplifying centuries of creativity.

Light refreshments will be served.

Join us for an Art Talk with collector and scholar, Michael T. Ricker, as he discusses the current exhibition, El Taller de Gráfica Popular. The exhibition features prints, posters, and leaflets created by influential Mexican artists through the Taller de Gráfica workshop, an artist collective forged in Mexico’s post-revolutionary years. Focused on issues related to social justice, education and other concerns, the exhibition pulls from the collection of Ricker, and highlights the role of artist as activist.

Live printmaking workshop followed by a reception with light refreshments and live music.
